Community Health Promotion Activities

Community based Health promotion activities implemented in Eshowe and Mbongolwane communities and Health facilities.

Health Promotion

Community Izimbizo (Female and Male), Community awareness event, Media activities (Radio slot), IEC, Condom education and distribution, Facility events and community stakeholders engagement.

Youth Activities

Youth dialogues, Youth Awareness events, Youth Camp, Youth competition, Soccer and Netball tournament, School Holiday health activities, Youth Stakeholder engagement, Peer educators (TVET), Children and Youth Support group, Community based youth Clubs.

Schools TB Educational Program

Facilitation TB Module, Organize schools dialogue, TB awareness events, Educators TB training, Data collection (Pre /post assessments), District support (Basic HIV/TB workshop), Supporting DOH school health team (SRH services and Education).


Community Health Services

Community Health service are community based health service provision, implemented in collaboration with SHINE and DOH – Mbongolwane WBOT.

The objective is bringing health services closer to the community and integrates Luyanda site and WBOT. Working together with DOH community Health Workers and SHINE.

Luyanda Community Site

HIV Counseling and Testing service, NCD, Health promotion, Condom Distribution and education, Sputum Collection, TB Contact tracing, OST study, Community Pick point (Treatment Delivery). Site identification , Stakeholder engagement and Site preparation. Integration of Luyanda and WBOT.

WBOT

DOH Activities – MSF support implementation. Household, mapping Wards mapping, training of CHW, Printing of Stationary, Household visit, Weekly/monthly meeting. Data collection, OTL clinical services, Stakeholder engagement, Engagement with PHC Manager, Operational Manager and district

Fixed Testing Site

HIV Counseling and Testing services, TB Screening, STI Screening, OST study, PrEP Study, Condom Distribution, IEC, Data collection.


Facility Based Activities

Facility Based Activities are implemented in the facility on Adherence counseling for HIV/TB patients. The objective is to provide adherence counseling to patient in order for them to better understand their treatment and the disease and adhere to their treatment to achieve viral load suppression.

DRTB Mentorship

Implementation of DRTB adherence counseling mentorship. Training on DRTB Adherence counseling.

National Adherence Guideline

Technical support to implementation of NAGL post mentorship, Training on NAGL refresher.

TB Adherence Counseling

Adherence counseling, Contact tracing and screening, TB education and screening, TB awareness events, Collaboration with TB nurse in the facilities, TB support group, Collaboration with Luyanda Site and WBOT.
